Terms of use

Last updated: October 30, 2026 (draft)

These terms cover your use of Pathluz (pathluz.com), a free beta that helps adults learn about careers by chatting with AI mentors built on official U.S. job data. By using Pathluz you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. A free beta

Pathluz is a free beta. Features may change, pause, or stop at any time, and there may be limits on how much you can chat each day. We may remove or change mentors, and we may end the beta.

2. Adults 18 and over

The beta is only for people 18 or older who live in the United States. By using Pathluz you confirm you are 18 or older. If we learn that someone under 18 is using the beta, we may block access and delete what we hold about them.

3. Education only

Everything on Pathluz is general education about careers. It is not career counseling, legal advice, financial advice, medical or health advice, or professional advice of any kind, and it isn't tailored to your situation. Mentors can be wrong or out of date. Before you make a decision about school, training, money, a license, or a job, check the official source we link (such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, O*NET, or your state licensing board) and, if you need advice, talk to a qualified professional.

4. AI mentors are fictional

Every Pathluz mentor is an AI, not a person. Their names, faces, voices, and scenes are AI-generated and depict fictional people. They don't represent real workers, employers, schools, or agencies, and no real person is endorsing anything. Answers are created automatically and aren't reviewed by a person before you see them.

5. No job, admission, or pay guarantee

Pathluz doesn't place you in a job, apprenticeship, school, or program. Nothing on Pathluz is a promise of a job, admission, license, certification, or pay. Pay and outlook figures are national estimates from official sources; your area and situation will differ.

6. Safety

Don't use Pathluz for step-by-step instructions on hazardous or licensed work (for example electrical, gas, or pressurized systems). Follow your training, your employer, and the law. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the U.S. In an emergency, call 911.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Pathluz if you are under 18;
  • break the law or help anyone else break it;
  • harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or post hateful, sexual, or violent content;
  • share other people's private information, or your own sensitive information (such as Social Security, bank, or medical details) in chat;
  • try to break, overload, probe, or get around limits or security of the service;
  • scrape, copy, or resell the service or its content in bulk, or use it to train other AI systems;
  • pretend a mentor's answer came from a real person, agency, or employer.

We may limit or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.

8. Sources and trademarks

Job facts come from public U.S. government sources, which we link on every answer. Pathluz is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Department of Labor, O*NET, or any licensing board. Names of agencies belong to their owners.

9. Your content

You keep any rights you have in what you type. You let us process it to run and improve the beta, as described in the privacy notice (draft). Please don't type anything you want to keep private.

10. No warranty and limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Pathluz is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on it. [Counsel to complete: limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law, dispute resolution.]

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll post the new date at the top of this page.
